Discover the TPLINK Deco x60 Router

tplink deco box x60

A few months ago I bought a mesh router from tp-link deco x60  with the aim of improving internet connection. However, in this text I will tell you about my experience with it over the last few months.

Firstly, let's talk about the main thing, improving the connection. The previous router I used was another one from TP Link, model TL-MR33220.

Previously the old router was 150mbs and the wifi connection reached a maximum of 110mbs and that wasn't bad once I was used to it.

However, with the deco x60 this number reaches 700mbs and the contract is 600mbs, meaning it has greatly improved the internet connection.

The Deco X60 router has features that improve the connection compared to the old router. Among them, Wi-Fi 6 AX3000 technology stands out, which allows a connection of up to 3000 Mbps and supports up to 150 devices connected simultaneously.

 Installation of the x60 Device

Currently, installation is very simple, just like an IOT device and in just a few steps it is already configured and ready to use.

IoT Settings

I met the family of routers DECO a few years ago and was doing more research so as not to waste money. But apparently all home Wi-Fi routers these days have guest network isolation. However, this is not exactly new.

However, my surprise was the IoT function this router has: you can isolate IoT devices in a separate network from the home network and the guest network.

Additionally, it is also possible to configure IoT devices to work together with routers, but unfortunately it only works with TP-Link and Philips Hue devices. Therefore, it does not work with sonoff, nor devices of positive smart home

x60 Router Features

The x60 Router has several interesting features for managing the network, all easily accessible in the Deco app.

Network protection

The X60 router has security features that test all router settings to ensure they are secure.

Access alert

Figure 8. Access Alert

The router has a feature that alerts everyone when a new device accesses the network.

Parental Control

In Parental control, you can control access to each family device, filter data, block websites and block Google searches.

Quality of Service (QOS)

QoS service that I still don't understand how it works, which allows you to prioritize the traffic of some devices over others.

Reports

The X60 router's Deco app allows you to generate monthly and weekly reports, as well as warning notifications whenever the router generates new reports.

NEGATIVE about TPLINK Deco x60

The X60 is an interesting product, but it has some negative points that may bother some users. However, the main one is that the device does not work correctly when it is disconnected from the internet. Another negative point is that some of the device's services only work upon payment of a monthly fee, which can be considered exaggeration, considering the price of the product.

After all, is it worth buying the X60?

It depends on your real needs, for example in my case I had a rotator with old technology and a connection distance problem. If you are having difficulty managing your network between rooms in your home, it may be worth investing in this device.

Price may put off most buyers looking for a cheaper solution, but this device helps a lot with the free resources it offers.

Conclusion

The TP-Link Deco X60 router is an interesting product, with features that can improve internet connections in medium to large homes. AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 technology allows for speeds of up to 3000 Mbps, which is ideal for streaming, online gaming and other activities that require a fast and stable connection.

Installation is simple and the Deco app makes network management easy. The router also offers security, parental control, and QoS features.

However, the Deco X60 also has some negative points, such as the fact that it does not work correctly when disconnected from the internet and the fact that some services only work if you pay a monthly fee.

Recommendation

The Deco X60 is a good option for those looking for a router with advanced features and that offers good network coverage. However, it is important to consider the negative points before making the purchase.
