The Stray Dog
I saw a sad dog, wandering alone on the street in loneliness. I stopped and asked him why he was so dejected, standing there. The dog looked at me and replied: “There are so many distractions in the world that prevent us from focusing on what really matters. After so much time being mistreated by humans and other dogs, I decided to stop fighting for life and accept the condition that the world has imposed on me.”
Concerned about the dog’s discouragement, I asked him if he would like something to eat. He sighed and said, “That’s the problem with the world. People don’t really care about other people’s problems. They pretend to care, offering crumbs and palliative solutions that only make the situation worse in the long run. If you really want to help me, adopt me, take me home, and give me some love. All I want and need is something that no one is really willing to give.”
